About Korea Made Easy

Korea Made Easy is an independent publication that explains what is suddenly trending in South Korea — and why — for an international audience that doesn't read Korean. When a name, a drama, a food, or a phrase spikes in Korean search, we break down the context, the backstory, and the global reaction so you're never left wondering what everyone is talking about.

How we choose topics

We monitor real search-demand signals — primarily Google Trends (Korea) and Naver DataLab — to catch genuine spikes rather than recycled headlines. A topic only becomes an article when there is a clear, measurable surge in interest and a story worth explaining to newcomers.

How we write and fact-check

Every article combines three things: verifiable facts from named sources, original context written for non-Korean readers, and — where relevant — reactions from international communities. Claims are linked to their sources, and we distinguish reporting from opinion.

In the interest of transparency: our drafts are produced with the help of AI writing tools and are then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human before publication. We publish only what we can source, and we correct errors when readers flag them.

What we are not

We are an independent commentary site. We are not affiliated with any broadcaster, entertainment agency, government body, or the public figures we write about. Trademarks and names belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only.
